The president of the Principality, the socialist Adrián Barbón, replied this Thursday to the Podemos spokesman that citizens must make realistic proposals that can be carried out and as far as education is concerned, what he can promise is that “the system education has to move towards normality prior to the pandemic. ”

“I am a social democrat who accepts that in these moments or with the resources it is necessary to manage reality without frustrating hope and you speak of hope but never transform it into reality, that is the great difference between you and me,” Barbón replied to Ripa.

In this sense, the Asturian president has affirmed that false promises cannot be transferred to Asturians, such as, for example, one cannot promise to lower the ratios when we have some of the lowest in Spain. “What it can promise is to return to pre-pandemic normality,” he insisted.

In this way, Barbón responded to the question of the Podemos parliamentary group about its assessment of the problems pointed out by the educational community at the beginning of the school year.

Adrián Barbón has considered that “within the complexity that the beginning of the course supposed, in general this has gone well”. However, it has indicated that those problems detected will be addressed and an attempt will be made to respond to them. “Our Minister of Education makes dialogue one of her identity flags,” the Asturian president stressed.

The spokesman for the purple formation, Daniel Ripa, was in charge of asking the president and in his speech he stressed that the problems detected at the beginning of the course have already been recurring in Asturias for years.

Likewise, he has considered that “the return to full presence seems to have caught us without doing our homework”, as is the case of the incorporation of the interim teaching staff that does it in the month of September for another year .

The abuse of temporary work and the recurrence of half-days have been another of the aspects highlighted by Ripa , who has also referred to problems in school transport or the need to improve ratios. Issues for which Podemos have demanded a solution.
